Monique Curry-Mims is a proponent of the integration of art and design into the everyday lexicon. She has dedicated herself to their promotion as unique yet practical teaching tools, allowing youth to see the world in a new – and fundamentally different – way. Building off these beliefs, Ms. Curry began writing children’s books that seek to expand the imagination of youth while teaching them life skills. Her books are inspired by her daughter Taylor and son Tyree Jr. Based off of conversations, experiences and lessons she hopes they learn, her books are written with love and the hope to inspire other African American children to strive for more.
